The file(s) in this directory are used for analysis of the satellite acquisition performance of our receivers. In order to use the script you will need to have a perl install plus the serial port modules. You need a Trimble receiver with Trimcomm support that is capable of turning itself off and will turn on by a break. On one port connected to the PC you must turn on GGA at 1Hz. The syntax for the program is then: perl acqGGA.pl COMx Baud log.txt COMx - PC serial port Baud - Baud rate of the receiver log.txt - results output file The program parses the GGA stream and waits for >= 4 satellites to be tracked. It then turns off the PC for a few seconds and then parses the GGA stream. This continues until the Perl script is killed on the PC. The "log.txt" file has cycle number, start time, position time.
